Locking SPECTRA for veSPECTRA
Create a veSPECTRA lock on Base to participate in Spectra governance.
What is veSPECTRA?
veSPECTRA is a transferable NFT representing locked SPECTRA on Base. Holders can create multiple locks, each with a duration from 1 week to 4 years, and use their voting power to participate in Spectra governance proposals. See the current veSPECTRA documentation.
The Base Voting Escrow contract is 0x6a89228055C7C28430692E342F149f37462B478B.
Create a lock
- Open the governance section of the Spectra app and connect a wallet on Base with the SPECTRA to lock.
- Choose the amount and a lock duration between 1 week and 4 years.
- Complete the token authorization and locking transaction requested by the app. The resulting veSPECTRA position is an NFT.
For participating in protocol decisions, see the governance voting guide.
Current governance rights and rewards
Locks and governance voting continue. Since 2 July 2026, SGP-20 has set weekly SPECTRA emissions and the rebase to zero and paused gauge voting and the voting-incentives marketplace. Locking does not currently earn a rebase or direct emissions to pools.
SGP-19 redirected the pool swap fees previously distributed through the ve(3,3) path to the DAO treasury. These fees are not direct rewards currently distributed to lockers.
Contract integrations
Use the deployed Base Voting Escrow implementation and its ABI when integrating veSPECTRA NFTs. The FeeDistributor and Voter references document reward distribution and gauge voting, respectively. They do not specify the Voting Escrow contract’s API.
