Governance Voting

Participate in Spectra governance with veSPECTRA and understand the current pause on gauge voting.

veSPECTRA holders participate in decisions about the Spectra protocol through governance proposals. Protocol governance and locked positions continue under SGP-20.

Participate in governance

  1. Create a veSPECTRA lock on Base by locking SPECTRA for a duration from 1 week to 4 years. See the locking SPECTRA for veSPECTRA guide.
  2. Read the proposal and discussion in the Spectra governance forum.
  3. Open the proposal in the Spectra DAO Snapshot space. Check its voting period, choices, and voting-power requirements before casting a vote.

Governance proposal voting is distinct from the gauge votes that previously allocated weekly emissions to pools.

Gauge voting and incentives are paused

Since 2 July 2026, SGP-20 has been in effect: weekly SPECTRA emissions, the Liquidity Wallet allocation, and the rebase are zero. Gauge voting and the voting-incentives marketplace are paused, and the app's Gauge and Incentivize pages are disabled. A future governance proposal can re-enable issuance.

SGP-19 redirected the pool swap fees previously distributed through the ve(3,3) path to the DAO treasury. Locking or voting does not currently provide direct pool swap-fee rewards or a rebase to veSPECTRA holders.
